Just got my grip frame and new grips back from Chigs grips. I am very pleased with the workmanship, quickness of work, and price. I ordered a set of walnut burl blanks and had them fit to my grip frame. Here they are on my 44 special Flattop. My camera can't pick up the beautiful figure in the wood under the gloss finish but in person they are very nice.

They look great! How long did they take?

It only took about 3 weeks from when I sent my grip frame in. And the price was only $65. I am very pleased with them. Not trying to show off, just trying to support a small business that does great work.

That is a great price for custom fit grips. Some guys take a year to make them. I’d say you did real good!

Those look mighty fine and looks like Ruger has stepped up their metal finishing quite a bit also. In all a very handsome revolver. I saw a set of grips made from mesquite heart wood years back, been wanting a set since.

Actually, it's funny you noticed the metal finish on the flattop. When I first got it the loading gate though was cut too shallow. A cartridge could just barely be shoved in the cylinder but it was tight. Ejecting an empty was about 50/50 if it would come out. The first trip to ruger all they did was check the timing. When I spoke to the supervisor the next trip, he was very nice and apologized. It came back with the trough deepened, and repolished and reblued. The finish is much nicer than when I first bought it. Much higher luster and a prettier blue.
