I'm going to be using one of them for reduced loads in 223 and want to pick the bulkier of the two. I've never used either of them.

Thanks,
Ian

Not sure about the density but I have used 800X for reduced loads in .22 Hornet, .303 British and 8X57 to name a few.
Does not meter so well being so 'fluffy' but if weighed produces good results.
I used PB data and this put me in the ball park.

800x is bulkier. In the same measure 11.0/800x = 13.6 blue dot.

JeffinNZ, would you mind listing your bullet and charge of 800X for your hornet. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, looks like I'll be getting some 800x.

The bigger the number, the "fluffier" it is.

Remember no mater the bulk and density, the other factor is "relative energy content.
What is the bulkiest powder that is least engergy content so that a "mostly full" case is reached at the best loading.

Heck get both, shooting is what it is all about anyway!

1Shirt: from memory it was 5gr under a Lyman 225415 for 1900fps. Went really well too.

JeffinNZ, Many thanks, will give it a try in K-Hornet, with 5gr. as a starter. Appreciate the response.
