There I was Ka Chunk . . . Ka Plunking along on my 550 converting boolits, PROMO and 45 ACP brass into loaded ammo when one would not go into the sizing die.

45 ACP will fit inside of it.
Rebated rim and headstamped 50 GI.
Guess I am way behind the new cartridge times, but when did this come about.
What gun handles this cartridge.

Dang those 45 ACP brass with small pistol primers done snuck in my brass supply.

Have to admit the small pistol primer has to be be plenty to fire off any normal 45ACP load so it would be nice to have all of them, but I have lots of LP brass.

I shot the 50 GI at Guncrafters shop, it didn't feel much different than a .45 1911, really nice high end guns.

I have several 50GI guns from Glock 21 conversion to several DI AR15 uppers as well as a couple of encore barrels. It is a great round that shoots 185gr bullets to 400gr without issue. I tend to run 350gr bullets either cast or plated. It is an accurate round and not punishing to shoot. But make no mistake it is not a magnum round and shouldn't be thought of as one. I see alot of people comparing it to the 50AE which is like comparing a 45acp to a 460 S&W, not apple's to apple's comparison.

They are down the road just a bit from me. Know the owner, nice guy. They have a machined copper bullet that will flare four petals and is nasty as a self defense round.

I have met Alex Zimmerman several times and is a great guy.
Here is the 185gr CHP 50GI factory round after being shot into a 55 gallon drum of water from about 9'.

Yea, it was one of the first mags we converted for the 50GI, it is a super easy conversion and runs FA (not my gun...:( )

Very interesting concept but I'm sorry - that Contender just entered the ugliest gun contest( with all due respect)
