Have a Remington 14 coming in the mail soon. Have the lee 195 gc and 358430 Moulds. Hoping to run the 358430 unsized (.359”). Was thinking about 11 gr of unique . Wondering what oal’s your are running?

I've shot quite a few Lyman/Lee GB 358430 slugs in Marlin 336's and a Remington 141. COAL around 2.3". Accuracy at short ranges has been outstanding, but I'm embarrassed to say that I don't recall if I ever tried them through the magazine. Lyman's 3rd ed. of Cast Bullet Handbook shows this round with a COAL of 2.215", so I presume such a cartridge will magazine feed without problems. Lyman used a Marlin 336 in their tests.

Remington 14 and 141 are not tolerant of OAL greater than standard. The jam from an overlong et round is quite interesting to clear. I load a lee copy of the RCBS 200 crimped in the crimp groove, feeds fine in both guns.

Are you shooting the lee bullet without a gc installed? I want to use 700x, unique or 2400

Have you fired this bullet without the gas check?

Have you tried these without gc?

I have not been pleased with gc designs shot without gc, in general. Some have good luck, but I have not tried it with the Lee 35 cal. I just don’t shoot enough of them to worry about the cost of gas checks. Most all my 35 Rem loads are hunting level.
