I inherited a powder thrower that was 3/4 full. Trying to figure out what’s in it.

It’s similar grain size to my 3F goex, but Is slightly grayer, not black.

I’ve only ever seen goex, not Swiss. And the 2f equivalent of Pyrodex, not triple 7.

Looking even closer I’d say it’s between 3f and 4f. I have both, poured all 3 onto a sheet of paper and feel like it’s between them

Pyrodex is grayer. Either way I'd say it's not worth the risk. Burn it or dump on the ground for fertilizer. I wouldn't chance loading it.

Yes, what's in that container is best identified as fertilizer for the lawn. It's a terrible idea to try to use powder that you don't know for SURE what it is. It could even be some kind of smokeless propellant, and that could prove disastrous if shot in a muzzleloader. Throw it out if you're smart.

Fertilizer for sure. Your life is worth more than a bit of powder. Hey you got the thrower, count your good luck and dump it.
