New to me rifle

Found and bought a thompson center 54 cal. Renegade. Bore and stock are both in great shape. The only thing that i will change is the hammer. The original owner had a scope mounted on it and had the hammer bent to clear the scope. There is an adjustbale rear peep sight on it now. He didn't have the original rear sight.253310 253311 253312

Nice rifle and peep sight. I have one just like it, but mine has the Hawken barrel, which is identical but is 2" longer. That peep sight will be more accurate than any open sight you could put on it. I have taken nearly 40 deer with mine, using Hornady Great plains bullets, 425gr HP's, or my own Lyman Plains bullet that I mold that weighs 450grs, with a veg fiber wad underneath it. Will shoot a close cloverleaf with a sandbagged rest at 100yds if I can do my part. I have taken deer out to 200yds with mine.
