A little while ago, I started a thread about 9mm 1911’s. I was thinking about getting one for myself for christmas. Well things changed, or at least I thought. I got a great deal on a S&W model 25 classic on gunbroker. It was nib, and when the bidding stopped, I got it for $200 cheaper than my lgs sells them for. Well when I went to pick it up, there was a ruger sr1911 target in 9mm that was used, but barely, for $590. This gun didn’t have a mark on it. One of the magazines was never used. So, I ended up bringing that home too. That is $250 cheaper than I can get a new one for. Thank the Lord for christmas bonuses. Merry christmas to everyone, and I hope everyone has as good a christmas as mine is shaping up to be. Sorry for the poor photo quality.

Well so far everything looks good. The throats on the s&w all take a .452 pin gauge, but none will take a .453. The 1911 will chamber my .358 rounds that I use in my other 9mm’s. I should be able to get to the range real soon.

I already love the feel of it. Have you tried the mecgar 10rd magazines? I can get a good deal on some.

Truly excellent guns. I haven't been able to handle or fire a model 25 but would certainly love to.
A good 1911 in 9mm is always a plus.

I have a Springfield Range Officer and an RIA Ultra FS, both in 9mm. I have a couple of the Mec Gar 10 round mags.
They work fine in the Springfield but not in the RIA.
The only mags I can get to work perfectly in the RIA are Wilson Combat 10 round mags that have the little ramp built into the front of the mag.
The Springfield has a ramped barrel. The RIA does not. That may be the difference.
