In a earlier thread two terms cane up. I have an ideal what they mean but would like a explanation.

unsocked: might mean powder straight from the can.

socked: well my imagination might be working overtime here. pour powder from can into a sock that you just took of, make sure it has no holes for the powder to leak out of. roll the sock around allowing the powder dust to attach itself to the sock. pour powder back into the can.

well how far am I off?

Chuck you are about right, but it doesn't need to be automatically fresh off of your foot. Having a looped, Terry-cloth like interior to "soak up" the dust is the intent.

I font thonk.ot is very useful with today's powder.
