What is a fair price for a bucket of wheelweights these days. These are the buckets bulk lube comes in at service staions, I think 5gals or so. Weight about 60lbs?I give the guys $30 worth of beer for 2 buckets.

If you're happy with the price, and they're happy with the price, then it's a good deal.

If they are full 5 gal. buckets they are probably closer to 100 pounds and $15.00 each is a good price around here ! :) :)

Try 15 or 20. If he says no then you can always offer more! a 12pack or case goes a long way too!

Great, I'll keep the deal going, I get two buckets every two months, The guys at the tire shop are happy and by what you guys are saying I'm happy too.

Don't wait 2 months to go back, hit them every month. Otherwise somebody else may get the weights or they forget you and throw them away or some other such silly stuff. Keep your face in their minds and you will get weights more often. You might want to buy your tires there also, the price tends to go down then.

A 5 gallon bucket weighs closer to 150 lbs, maybe more. I base that on me being used to picking up 100 lb bags of grain, a full 5 gallon bucket is much heavier than a 100 lb bag of grain. We move them using a handcart.

:drinks:I get the message:-D I live in a small town so I'm going to go every 6 weeks or so. If I go too often I'll be getting half buckets and it would be awkward to give less beer ( I give 2 six packs to the owner, one to the tire guys) . Who can direct me to guides on how to sort out the stuff in the buckets? What to keep, what to melt down, what to avoid melting down. Some guy said something about Zinc Contamination? What's that? I'm new at this if you haven't guessed. I have molds, gas checks, 400lbs of lino and 10 buckets of wheelweights so far. I'm nearing retirement and my plan is to shoot the heck out of an old Win71,WinBigBore 375 and old Win94 in 32Special. Have dies for the 348 already and waiting for a group buy die for the 348 from here. Got my melting pot and coleman stove. Looking for a used lubrisizer andtime to read up on what to do/get next.

Around here, they sell for 30c per pound, so for a couple six-packs you are getting a great deal.

I got a buddy of mine that is a cop and he has shown up in his uniform asking for wheelweights......imagine the good results he gets.
