Hi there,

I have been trying to reload my Colt Army Special in 41 long colt for 6 months now. I thought I was just about to finally achieve my goal when I hit an unexpected hurdle, I need a top punch for my resizing die.

The bullet I am using is from oldwestboolitmolds .41 Colt 195gr .408dia heel bullet mould.
The libesizer I am using is a Lyman 4500.
I have a Lyman .406 sizing die.

Does anybody know the too punch I need to use for my boolits? I've searched far and wide and I'm completely lost. I very much appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Took a bit to find the mould you were talking about. I would guess a 167 top punch would be the choice.

Hi Skunk1,

Thank you very much for taking the time to look into that for me. I really appreciate the help.

I just looked up the ine you mentioned and it does indeed appear to be the right one. It is however rated for .407 rather than the .406 I'm looking to achieve.

Do you think this will still be suitable?

Many thanks for your help.

Appears you can be used from .377 to .407 diameter boolits. Here’s another chart.

Partially because of this I shoot my 200gr Lee special order Heeled hollow base boolits with tumble lube. Have had no leading.
