Afternoon everyone......I was just curious if anyone had experimented by using 38 special brass instead of 357 mag brass for the 22 rem jet round???I know the dies would have to be trimmed down, but it seems like it would be a neat little round to play with......I read about the 30 badger and that seems like a great idea too.....cheap, plentiful brass, lots of booolit selection, very little powder......not a lot of pressure......just curious

I'm not a Jet shooter, but wouldn't you just end up with a shorter neck?

Would the size die be milled from the bottom9case head/primer0 primer end? Sometimes Get headache if I try to think to much.

I had a Martini in 22 Ackley Jet. I didn't have dies for it and modified a couple dies and used several other dies to form cases from 357s. It was 9 step procedure but produced nice brass. I had Rem Jet dies but they were usless to use as form dies. Those were the biggest PIA of any brass I've formed.

I've modified a lot of dies but only from the bottom. I cut them with a wheel and then face and polish in lathe.

This is correct. The Jet would not be a good choice to shorten from either end.
