I've tried seating .30 plain base, with a Lee sizer, and had nothing but problems.
Lots of the time the check would tear.
i did polish out the die. Chamfer the opening.
I got some 9mm plain base checks and instead of using the Lee sizer, I used the Lyman lube/sizer.
Worked great.
I would lube/size the boollet first, then put the check on, and push the boolet down just enough to size the check.
Not all the way down like when lube/sizing. Just enough to size the check.
Haven't tried it with the 30 boolets yet, but I think it would work the same.

Yes it does work same way for 30 cal plain base gas checks. Lubrisizer is best way to seat any plain base gas checks.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191210/4362f5c1f35583203dfdf69f839f38c7.jpg

I'm a pretty big fan of Pat's PB gas checks and a bigger fan of nose first sizers but for seating PB checks the base first Lyman or RCBS is the only way to go./beagle

I use 40 caliber plain base checks, sold by a member. Made from pop cans, they snap on the bottom of Lee 175 gr boolits. I put them on, and run through the Lyman 450. Never butchered one. I run that boollit fast through my 10 mm.

I am brand new to gas checks and I just found out about plain base gas checks. These might be perfect for my 450BM load, a Lee 457-340 sized down and loaded up to about 1850. I shot a deer with it this season as a PB bullet. I have generally good accuracy, but always have some flyers. I'm hoping the GC will reduce flyers and any future leading I might have gotten with a PB bullet pushed that fast.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191212/9db2680a96f1b9d49d26b93f881de023.jpg
