Need help or advice with Timney Buehler style Mauser safety?

I bought a Timney safety for my Mauser 93 and for some reason it comes out of bolt when its in receiver and cocked. I've already got one in another Mauser, that's a Turk 38, and it did fine. When you try and turn safety in the upward position, which is safe position, it won't move and you can pull it out. Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like the cam is not properly beveled
Or your cocking piece is not cocking back far enough for the cam to get behind the cocking piece.
Also.
Is your safety the type where you have to cut a notch in the bolt shroud for the lever to set down in in the Off position to hold it in place.
Pictures would be of a big help as there are several styles out on the market , but they all should come with installation instructions.
They are not a Drop In Fit.
They have to be Fit to Your bolt to be Safe.

I may have to bevel the cocking piece some. But, I really don't understand the safety pulling out. It goes all the way in as far as it can go.

You should not have to bevel the cocking piece
You may only have to smooth the very Edge of the cocking piece.
Too steep of Bevel can create an unsafe condition where the safety can jump off safe position.
The cam on the safety lever is the part you should be reshaping.
I have installed over 100 of these type of safeties and have never run into the type of issues that you describe.
I also make my own safeties and make safeties out of the original safety lever so it works on the right side and can be used with a scope.

I tried it again today and it will not come out anymore but, still won't go from fire to safe. I'm gonna take it out again and smooth the edge a little. Thanks Lags.

Finally got back on it today. Got it fixed and it works great. Beveled and shaped the safety cam. Gonna put it back in stock tomorrow. Thanks for everything.

Glad that you got it working.
Now have you checked all the functions and make sure it works properly.
First you cock the rifle.
Then make sure that when the safety is engaged that the Cocking Piece is Moved to the rear at least 1/16" in the safe position.
Then you pull the trigger and make sure it does not fire.
Then release the pressure on the trigger.
Then the last step is to put the safety into the Firing position , and make sure that the gun does not Fire when the safety is moved from Safe position to firing position.
This is a Check often overlooked when replacing a safety.

Yeah, I did all that and no problems at all. This one though is a little different than my 98 Timney safety. You can lift bolt handle with safety on but, 98 won't do that. Maybe its the cocking piece that cocks on closing?

There is a cam on the front of the shaft that locks the bolt on Some Models.
It locks into the bolt Sleeve to make it non operable to open the bolt on Safe Mode.
Which, I M O , I think is StupidI would like to be able to open the bolt when the safety is ON.

I like for the safety to lock the bolt - so it doesn’t open if brush catches the handle when I’m squeezing thru the thicket. Even more so on a COC action - because they will fly open and eject the shell!
