I need to replace the sights on my Sig p938 and my Beretta 92 what would be a good sight pusher that will work for both and maybe a 1911

Just remember as you look done the handgun from rear sight to front, it's left to right to go out.
Right to left to go in.

Or at least I hope so.

This is the type of sight pusher that I have. I've used it on rear sights for a few CZ's, M&P, Glock, and a SAR. I picked it up because I didnt want to pound on the night sights with tritium vials in them.

I did replace the front sight on my Sig938 when the night sight stopped working, but I actually ended up using a nylon punch because I was worried that the sight would break off of the tiny metal strip that actually goes into the dovetail if i used the pusher. If you look at the front sight on it you will see what I mean. So, with the nylon punch I was able to tap the old one out and the new one in by pushing on the metal strip that actually goes into the dovetail.

One thing I always do before using the pusher is to put a few strips of blue painters tape on the gun anywhere the sight pusher may touch the slide. Just to try and keep it from scratching anything.

Seems to be pretty common for it to die in my experience. I bought my 938 used and the first owner changed the front sight to a different height due to poa/poi.

The replacement sight died, and the original one he included in the box was dead too. So I bought another. Hopefully it lasts longer than one year like the last one did!

The front sight did come out fairly easy with the nylon punch though. A lot easier than sights I have done in the past with punches. Just give it a drop of penetrating oil to help it along the way and a few solid taps should get it out.

A thick brass punch and a hammer.

When you are done, a little Hoppes #9 to remove the brass marks and you're done. Or a nylon tipped punch if you're really worried about marking the sight.

I've used sight pushers and I've yet to find one that works as well as a punch and hammer.

I just ordered a nylon drift punch off Amazon i got the replacement sights from sig i just didn't want to send them my slide

I got this got my Sig, the rear sight was very stubborn but this pushed it fine. One thing I like about this pusher if it goes down to a point and pushed the sight in the groove, not above the slide.
This is also rated for front sights.

All gunsmiths, amateur or professional, should have at least one sight pushing tool. I acquired one years ago from Brownell's, and it saved me a lot of grief. Tapping a pistol sight over in a dovetail with a brass punch or piece of dowel and a small hammer is one thing, and it usually works satisfactorily, but moving a sight on an elevated ramp on a sporting rifle can be quite different. You can bend the ramp or even knock it loose from the barrel if it is only soldered on and not screwed. Pushing is usually better than pounding.

I called sig on the second replacement front sight for my P290RS they said to use a sight pushing tool not a hammer.
the store where I bought the 290 when I asked after talking to sig said they drift them in and out with a hammer and punch I put the second replacement on with my sight pushing tool its still good several years later.
I have no idea if tapping the sight in damaged it or not I have tapped in a lot of sights , but for night sights I now use the sight pushing tool mine is a cheaper looking version that cost more than the one in the amazon link in post 10

I have a decent "universal" sight pusher but half the time a brass or steel drift and a small hammer with the work in the vise (work rigidity is key) is all I ever need. I'll even take a vise with me to the range if I need to work on something while I'm there.

Honestly a brass rod & hammer has never ever failed me. Yes even glocks and Walther pistols.
