Got a bottle in a box from a friend.
I remember seeing this around before.
Don't remember if it was good or not.
Some kind of graphite coating??????
I smoke my molds, and have no problems.

Lucky Guy!

Rapine Bullet molds is out of business. I would guess Ray retired.
It is made from micro fine ground graphite in a carrier.

One bottle is about a lifetime supply.
Its chief virtue is as a lubricant.
In second place, it works as a release.
Unlike other products, it does not change the as cast measurements. At least that can be measured by a conventional micrometer in three places.

A clean and correct bullet mold will cast great bullets. A clean and correct mold treated with the Rapine product will do the same and prevent galling and ware under the top plate and in the pins/holes. plus drop the bullets just as easy.
For anyone that does not think they want to use it, I say - don't.

I just smoke the cavities on my three Rapine molds before first use. Never any problem.

I've used Rapine mould prep for years. Down to my last bottle. It's really great stuff but I never put any in the cavities nor do I "smoke" moulds. The mould is cleaned thoroughly and then the mould prep is put on the sprue plate (top and bottom), on top of the blocks and on the alignment pins with a Q-tip being careful not to get any in the cavities. Iron, brass or aluminum blocks makes no difference..
