I received this odd die as a part of a reloading lot. it is positively marked 30-06 so i figured it was a sizing die. i lubed up an old case and promptly got the case stuck and ripped off the base. I took it out to the garage and punched out the case. Its hard to see in the picture but it really crushed the case neck.

Could this be an early crimp die of some sort?

Interesting... you could always make a cast of it to see what the inside looks like.

Neat find. That is a full length sizing die for use in the Lyman Ezy Loader press (1953-57). It has to be threaded in from the bottom, into the center, rear die station. The narrow top is to provide clearance between the link arms. This is an over arm press like a Co-Ax, only rather quirky.
If it is put into either of the front stations the force will break the thread ears off the press.

Thanks guys, I may have to do a cast, I didn’t think a sizing die compressed the neck so much. At least I know what it goes to.

That die looks just like the dies that are in the Potter Duplex that another member is getting from me I would post a pic but its all packed to ship and I'm not sure on how to post pics

There are several dies like that on Ebay. I didn't know what they were for. Now I do.
