I only own antique lever guns, and one modern marlin. So i ordered a 45-70 wildlife edition brass frame receiver for my dad's 50th birthday... Looks like it will be a Christmas gift now. So i was wondering if there is a hammer safety? A three position like all the other ones? This one only has firing position, and un-cocked. I waited a year for this thing... Am I unfamiliar with the new guns or.... À return isn't an option.

I think they have a transfer bar so no manual safety you just cary with the hammer down.

It is just like the Ruger revolvers. There is no manual safety, the hammer has a transfer bar. When the hammer is down, the rifle is safe. When the hammer is cocked it is ready to fire.

Ok, thanks. I thought it was a malfunction.
