Star Metal, you mentioned in one of your recent posts about wanting to aquire a buffer for your shop. We all know baldor makes good ones but so are the prices. I have for years been using a 3/4hp motor that came out of an ancient table saw. Double shaft one at each end. Sears sells the arbors and you can pick up some buffing wheels at home depot. One buffer that had seen duty actually came from a huge rolodex file cabinet 1/3hp 1725 rpm. The 3/4hp motor does about 3600 rpm. Try scrounging a motor from a shop that does rewindings or repairs motors, or if someone has a pool usually the pump motor is either 3/4hp or 1hp. Some of these motors can be used with either 110vac or 220vac by swapping a wire. Just a thought. Frank
