I had posted needing a price check on the pre 64 Winchester 30/30. First off, thanks for all the replies. The auction closed at 6pm. I went and previewed the rifle. I went over it with a lighted magnifying glass, literally. I could see one shiny spot on the front sight where it had been drifted left to right. I found 4 very light impressions on the stock and fore arm. That is it, everything else is great. The gun has been shot very, very little. It locks up super tight, and the bore is mint when I put a endoscope down it. I ended up getting it for the one bid I put in, $500, which puts me out the door at $583 tax and all. I am a happy camper.

This evening after returning home, a gun trading buddy came down, and he had traded for a 1947 .32 special 1894 rifle. The bore is great, the guns is super tight, and I even shot it a couple of times, trigger breaks at about #3. The down side is someone has inletted maple diamonds into the side of the stock on both sides. It also has no blue left on the receiver, barrel, and mag tube. No rust, some very, very light patina. No big dings, scratches, on the metal. The wood is solid. The previous owner had asked $500 for it, and I told him he was crazy. I traded a heavy barrel Mossberg 144 for it that I had $250 in, even. Sometimes the gun collecting/trading gods do smile on us.

Thanks for posting pics. I shot the .32 special this afternoon, I had to click the rear sight down to the lowest notch on the elevator, to get it to shoot dead on at 100yds, with the Hornady 160gr Leveloution ammo. I hit a pop can 3 for 3 at 100yd after 2 shots to get the elevation and moving the sight.

Nice rifles. I dont mind the maple diamond. It's unique. I can see it's an issue if yoy bought it for a quick sell though. It affects collector value.

Kev 18 I plan on keeping them both. I had made room in the safe for them, by moving a couple of other rifles.
I had looked long an hard for a nice 30/30 94, and am very pleased with this one, best one I have seen. The .32 just begs to be hunted with. Our rifle season opens today, and I have a doe tag left, and have been planning on killing my last doe, with an original Trapdoor made in 1886, but might end up using the .32.

Really nice rifles especially the pristine one. I’m jealous.
