Any of you 41 mag fans ever use this mold. I ordered it when noe had their last sale, and just got it today. I have been using an mp-411-hammer and it has been pretty good. For max loads, the flat point seems to do better. I have been using the small hp over 8.5-9.0 of unique with pretty good success. The flat point with my alloy weighs 227gns.

So the new noe mold reminds me of a smaller version of the noe 454-280 wfn. I have had excellent results with this in all of my 45 colt guns. That is why I chose this mold. I guess I will know soon enough. I won’t have any time to test it out until after deer season.

I have an RG 2 version with GC. I like it, used it on a deer last fall out of a 6 inch 41 special. Using 13.(can’t remember) of 2400 it was running 1100+ when I shot it over a chronograph this spring. Was plenty and then some for the deer, alloy was 97/1.5/1.5 and water dropped(Cause It’s easier for me) hollow point. Bullet stayed together and dropped the deer after about a 20 yard dash. Hit a rib going in an made a mess on it’s way out, may be still going for all I know.
I also have 412-224 swc and this weighs the same as the 412-238 in hp form, same alloy. Also the crimp groove is the same distance from the base. I use these interchangeable in my 41 specials, same power charge, same poi. Note I am using open sighted revolvers at 50 yards and under to hunt with, there could be a slight trajectory difference but not meaningful within my uses. I think you will like that mold, I am going to try the non hp, when I get rountoit:)
Here’s some that came out of a rotted out oak log I had a target on a while back, this is why I am confident the bullet stayed together. That and no lead fragments in my butchering.

I have the MIHEC version, and it is a great design. My sold-non hp- weighs about what yours does. I killed a does earlier this with a 212 gr cup point from 16.5" .41 Henry at 1770fps at 85 steps. A few years ago took another doe with a 208gr hp from a 5.5" rhawk in .410GNR going 1630fps. This one went from left shoulder to right hip and stopped under the skin. It is good design.
