With a bunch of reloading stuff I picked up came a small box with RCBS priming scribbled on it and this stuff inside:

250398

What's it go to?

Doesn't fit my Rockchucker, Lyman T-Mag or my RCBS A3.

Way to thick and shaped differently.

It's .365 thick.

Too good to throw out, but have no idea what I'll ever use it for when I don't have a clue what it goes to.

Post at 10:32, have an answer at 11:10 on a 50 year old accessory to an arcane piece of reloading equipment, I'm impressed.

I suspect the press that it went to is still in the basement of the guy I bought it from, stuck in a corner behind massive amounts of junk. He posted photos of what he thought was all his dad's reloading stuff on Craigslist. When I got there I found probably 3 times what he had photo's of. Loaded it all up with his help, paid the asking price with out question. Had contact with him two days later and he was more than a little rude, decided I had ripped him off by paying the asking price.

Too many weird people in the world.

It does appear to be set up for large primers, it also has what looks like two screw-in posts for primers. I'll have to try a small primer RCBS cup with them to see if it could work with small primers.

It also fits just about every other Herters model, and every press made off the same tooling that Herters used... Many of the inclined, C-type single-stage presses can use that primer arm.

What size/shape is the ram in the primer cup?? Some of those old arms have concave rams, some have flat rams...

Similar shape to my RCBS A3, much too thick to fit.

Owning an A3 puts you in an elite crowd. They are not common.

I have two of those Herter's Super 3 presses. Love them! One was Dad's and one was gifted to me by a pal. The primer cup posts come in both threaded and non threaded with a set screw. The RCBS's will fit if you get the right one. I also have 5 pacific 1934 Patent presses. These are smaller than the Herter Super 3, but still a good rugged press. This is as close as I ever got to "progressive reloading".250530 Here are three of them in a row.
