View Full Version : Remington pump rifles' magazines?

Regarding Remington 760, 7600, and so on, these pump action rifles appear to be upgrades of the same basis design. If this is accurate:

1. Are magazines of the same chambering - all generations of 30-06, for example - interoperable?

2. When compared with detachable military rifle magazines, such as the steel magazines first used by our M14, how durable are Remington pump action rifle magazines?

If generations' magazines are not interoperable, I'll follow-up with adjustment to my query.

.

The magazines for the slide-action Remington 760/7600 are interchangeable; the magazines for the autoloading Remington 74, 740, 742, 7400 & Model Four (and AFAIK also the M-750) can also be used.

Just be aware that the autoloader magazines have a feature on the follower that holds the bolt open when they run dry and have a side button to depress the follower to drop the autoloader's bolt.

The magazines are durable, but made of folded metal - and like any other detachable magazine, can be damaged.
