Hello All,
I got a 27-2 that was converted to 357/44 Magnum Bain & Davis today at the gun show. Thanks for looking. Boats

Excellent , are you going to shoot it. I have a Blackhawk in bain and davis and have played with it a bit. Certainly rare.

I already put rounds down range. I've had the caliber in a Ruger Blackhawk since the early 90's. This one defiantly put a fireball out with the porting.

I am fairly new to bain & davis, had a cylinder and dies fall into my lap couple of months ago. Researched and realized what is was. I found a 357 blackhawk that i could fit the cylinder
in and have been shooting some lite loads. I would much rather it be a nice Smith like yours, That's pretty

Just a word of common sense. The B&D is not a 44 magnum. The lowest starting load for a 44 is too stiff for the Blackhawk cylinder to withstand. Don't ask how I figured that out.

As always, start low and work up..
I have a Blackhawk and a Handi rifle chambered for the B&D, both are very fond of 358" jacketed boolits, especially the rifle.

You can use 357 Magnum data and 357 Maximum data to approximate load data, (A max 357 load and a minimum 357 Maximum load serve as start and Max boundaries.) Hodgdon has some data listed and I believe one of the older Speer manuals has some data, though I'm not sure which one. My shooting buddy Rick had one, a converted Model 28, that was quite literally a blast to shoot. I toyed with the idea of having one made, but with a wife and two kids on a patrolman's salary, twere'nt happening.

That's an exceptionally nice revolver, and you are fortunate to own it. Congratulations.
