View Full Version : Bastogne Walnut one piece grips

These are on their 4th coat of thinned tru oil. I usually use timberluxe oil finish, but wanted to try Tru Oil this time. No complaints to be honest, and it is giving a nice depth.

For these I used a pre stain conditioner before starting the Tru Oil. These are going on a Uberti old west single action copy. I went with Bastogne walnut because it’s color reminds me of old, desert dried wood. In keeping with the theme of the gun (factory finish looks like it was buried for a year and then dug up...), I used 80 grit paper to apply some deep scratches here and there.

Here I am fitting a set of true one piece grips to a Colt SAA. These are book matched on both sides which is hard to find on a true one piece grip.
