Hi guys,

Can anyone supply me with about 30 358156 boolits, sized and gaschecked at about .358?

I don't care if it is a genuine Lyman or one of our many clones. I am having difficulty getting consistent results with my plainbase clone, just want to see if a GC makes a difference in my particular gun.

I assume boolits already lubesized and gaschecked would be the simplest, but for that matter I could lube and size them if someone has them just as cast, but then I would also need the gaschecks, as I don't use them in this caliber.

If your cylinder throats are too small GC won't help.

Are you having trouble with just the 156 boolits ??

& yes too small throats will cause problems with any boolit.

The 358156 likes the gas !

I`ve had my throats reamed to .0005 over bore & the 358156 degrades the lower you go under 1k fps.

I have gc`ed hp, plain based hp. & solids in both .

The hp`s are more tolerable to down loads , the pob is futher back from the oglive.

The 357446 is even more intolerable but has a wider meplat & performs wonderfully on medium sized to large (180#) deer.

Ifin you want a lead boolit for plinking & down loading look at the lee 125,158 rnfp , I like the 158 as the 158 gr rnfp going slow & the 175-185 going 1k fps hit very close for me.

This has been my exp with 4 GP100s & 1 sp101.

Again you need to slug the bore & measure the throats ,I use a j word bullet for a gage & a decent 0-1" micrometer.

1 thing to mention if you`ve been shooting 38s in a 357mag make certain the crude ring is cleaned out as it`ll act like a down sizer ring on the rear of the boolit.
