Another Rhineland Conversion Question

Has anyone done this conversion but leave the mauser magazine in and get it to feed from it?
I understand the follower would need to be shortened and a filler block installed behind it.

I think someone has doe that but not 45 ACP but to a longer version of the 45 ACP?
