Went to the farm I hunt yesterday morning and hunted one side for a couple of hrs nothing . Went for walk on the other side of the property to a fence row and plenty of tracks and sign . I went back yesterday evening and put up my ladder stand made for short trees and fence rows , then climbed in . Just before dark had 5 come into the field below me , 3 does made their way in my direction . Finally 1 made her way into my lane ( between the branches hanging down) the 40 yd shot was true and she ran about 15 yds and stopped, she stood for a second and dropped. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191011/e919b43c57fa925ca62cdff9ec3b51b4.jpg

Everybody beat me to it.lol a cast broadhead!

I don’t normally hit my woods till Nov 1st on since I’m a rack hunter. I actually am down to my last pack of steaks from four deer last year so I might have to go harvest a doe and try out the rage hypodermics I bought a few weeks ago. I’m kinda spoiled. I normally have 4/8 deer walk within bow range every sit. Knock on wood. What broadhead did you use?

i have been breaking ice since Wednesday so thought this was what the thread was about. Still don't have ice thick enough to fish on and won't until early Dec. Congratulations on your bow kill.

I wish I could cast broadheads those things are not cheap . I killed her with a std . Parker bolt and a 125 gr. Slick Trick . They are a great broadhead , as long it doesn't hit rocks on the exit they will last a long time because once you take them apart they shapen pretty easy . I like to get one early and get settled in for the rest of the season .

Wish I could do the same here in the UP , have had a few does & 1 forkhorn come in.BUT, if I had bought a lic. to kill the fork , I would be all done for the year. I bought the combo lic. That means 3 points on a side for first deer & 4 points on a side for 2Nd.no does , DNR wants to save all of them for the wolves.
