I don't shoot it but a buddy wants me to teach him. Looking for a suggestion for a Lee mold that will do well in an semi auto.

Thanks guys.

I'm using the 175 TC mold in my Glocks and it seems to work well

Of the lee molds for 40 caliber the 175 is without a doubt the best one, the TC that Lee makes will feed in anything, I have the 9mm, the 40 and the 45. But my favorite boolit for the 40 is the slick sided 155gr Miha mold using the pentagonal HP pin, granted it is a bit more than the lee lol.

I have both, normal and tl groove,I prefer the normal as fill out is easier but both shoot fine. Lee changed the alignment to normal pins so the mould lasts longer.

I’ve never used it but the Lee 175 TC seems to be well liked. Is your friend going to tumble lube, powder coat, tradition lubersized bullet? This may change which mold style he wants to use.

We both would like to try out powder coating.

I don't shoot 40 but I have the Lee 175 TC and load for two 10mm guns. The mold runs great and is very accurate in both 10's. I powder coat them with Smoke's clear. I shoot a Springfield Armory XDM 10 and the CMMG Banshee MK10. Both feed with no problem.

Another vote for Lee 175 TC. I feed those to my RIA 1911 in 10mm and they work great.

I have all three. The TL is only one that causes issues for me.

I like the conventional groove 175 best of the three but I have sent many pounds of the 145 into steel Too!

The Lee 175-TC is a great profile. Hated the mold. So if you like Lee molds, this is a good one. FYI, mine were powder coated.

Might look at the NOE version of the TC too.

I also had the 401638. Also a great profile, but the mold had issues.

Also had a 403 RF NOE 5 cav. Great mold, a bit fat for my tastes.

Finally settled on an LBT 401-175-TC. Beautiful mold. Great bullet for my Glocks! Casts so dreamy!

For a heavy hammer, a hot LBT 200 gr WFN charged with Longshot runs great too, but that's not an everyday choice of ammo for me.

I just got the Mehi 402165 but have not been able to get to the range but maybe this weekend. For the record it drops .402 out of all 4 cavities with WWs 3 pins and a solid. Weights are solid 166 gr, cup 161 gr, small hp 159 gr, and lhp 154 gr.

The lee 175 tc works great . Shot it lots of times tumble lubed no lead in barrel. HS6 worked best for me at the higher loads

I’ve used the Lee 401-175-TC and it works fine. NOE has a 402-170-TC that i now use which i like better. It is not a bevel base and has a deeper lube groove and is a little bigger. These do a little better in my 40’s.

Ditto on the Lee TC175 gr mould. I need to cast a bunch up soon for my PCC .40. Will PC them too!
