my wifes side of the family is having a get together and there will not be enough bed space for everybody. this will be in wichita kansas next week and what I need is a very small camper, just need a bed and a heater no water or bathroom needed. the smallest rv rental that the local dealers have is 25 foot which is way to big for where it needs to go, one of those small pod campers would be perfect but nobody rents them that I can find. does anybody close to wichita have a small camper they would rent to me or does anybody have any other ideas. there are no hotels with in 12 miles of the in-laws and we really want to stay close so we arnt driving tired.

This is a good time of year to buy one used then sell it in the spring. You should be able to turn a pretty good profit. At least that is how it works in our part of the world.

How about renting a full size van and using a blow up mattress and electric heater. Might find a camper van too.

Any chance you could borrow or rent a yurt? Put in a couple of cots, fire up the stove... Put it about anywhere... Just a thought, but might be worth a try...

no yard space, they live in a small town east of wichita so our options are rather limited, really cant believe the rv places wont rent one of those small pod campers. been trying to figure this out for several weeks and this thread was my hail mary pass.

I would buy a small camper van from a place that allows you to return it within a week if you don’t like it...catch my drift?
You’ll likely be out some processing fees but I doubt it would be more than a couple hundred bucks.
Worth a try.

12 miles does not seem like much of a drive unless it is through a big city. Something to be said for a hot shower in the morning and a place to do your business at night.

Guess I am showing my age...LOL

to old for a tent and the house has hot showers and toilet, just need a bed to sleep on and a place to get away from all the noise of youg kids. seriously thought about the buy and return idea but with my luck I would get stuck with a paperweight somehow.

Rent a U-Haul (small truck or trailer) or a van. Get a couple of cots, a LED lantern, sleeping bags and disable the lock on the door so you can't be locked in. You now have a roof, walls, floor and a bed.

I work with someone that rents his camper out and he uses Facebook to put it out there for rent and had it rented out most of the summer. Not sure what section or if you or someone you know has access to FB but its a way.

thanks skeettx but already talked to all those places several weeks ago, the smallest camper they rent is like 26 foot and way to big for the area it needs to fit in. actually found a guy close to in-laws with one to rent, its still a little on the big side but his rent is reasonable and its only a year old so should be in good shape.
