Hell of a site, sir!
I really liked the work done by the 515 grain 45-70 boolit at 1500 FPS, and the comments about the destruction it wreaked on drywall, water jug, bricks, and its continuation downrange "mad as hell".

More information. :Fire:
The purpose of the Box is to test the penetration of various rounds.
There is only one way to know how much a certain round penetrates.
You must shoot it into a medium and see for a fact.

The shotgun and slug is an awesome combination. So is the 45-70 Guide Gun and it can reach out better.
Sheetrock walls may hide you but offer no protection.

Also noted @ that site.his 45-70 boolit blasting through 3 ft.of water, and "last seen heading for Oklahoma".....stay away from the guys with Buffalo Sharps,"there ain't no such thing as cover"... Onceabull
Makes you wonder about all them westerns where everyone takes cover behind the wagon box or inside a tar paper shack.

Jim,
Yeah I use to wonder about those shows when I was kid. It didn't take me long as teenager to find out it was all phooey.

I'd still feel halfway safe behind a wagon box, if they didn't shoot anything bigger than a .44-40 at me. The old ones were made of good hard wood, not pine like the new repros.
However, I will still let you shoot at my hat on a stick first, just to make sure....
I wonder how many really fell for that one? I know my grandad said they did it in the trenches in WW1, and drew a fair amount of fire, when they were in an active zone.
