My friend Ed Hull, back in the early 80's, wrote a soft bound 80+ page book on Providence Tool Company Military Arms. That book has been the only existing reference with comprehensive comparative information on these fine arms, so often overlooked by collectors.

Now, Ed has just finished a MAJOR new book titled Peabody Firearms: A Detailed Account of The Peabody Side-Hammer and Peabody-Martini Rifles and Carbines, and The Breechloading Musket Conversions Made on The Patents of Henry O. Peabody

This will no doubt be the definitive work on both the guns and the history of the company and it's firearms manufacturing endeavors, (which only lasted 15 years). Several PTCo fanciers, including myself, provided photos, information and samples of rare arms for study and documentation to supplement Ed's already-vast knowledge of the subject.

Thanks for the notice, John. I have Mr. Hull’s first book, and was mighty impressed by all the info on H. O. Peabody and Providence Tool that he managed to find and put together. Guess I’d better dig out my old Amazon password and get this updated version as well.
