Alzheimer's and dementia have to be the hardest thing, both family and the person, can have happen.
Friends mother in law had alzheimers.
Years of struggle for her and the family.
In the end she just stopped eating.
She couldn't live with it any longer.
Friends father is going through dementia.
Just a shell of who he was.

My Mom passed from it. Nasty disease for everyone concerned. I told the doc I would rather die of a heart attack then Altzheimers when we were discussing some issues.

Mom died in April from dementia. It is certainly no laughing matter. Went from being a strong determined person to not even knowing her own children. We had to put her in a care home where she lived for 4 or 5 years, steadily deteriorating.
It affects everyone around them.
