After 5 years in the corps I hated the ar15 especially the m4. Mainly due to 5.56 lack of stopping power and the 16" barrel on the m4 making it worse. I did love the A2 sights.
Anyways in the 15 years since I have tried FAL and HK 91 and did not care for them either and settled on an M1 garand or bolt guns for long distance work and lever actions and revolvers for sub 200 yards.
I have always admired the 10mm auto but as a reloader I tend to hate bottom feeders but I bought a 1911 in 10mm and love it.
Being a Skeeter Skelton disciple I started looking for a carbine to match. I sort of feel dirty buying something so tacticool but the isn't much out there in 10mm. With the new "braces" i hope these carbines, I mean pistols in hard hitting 10mm will work.
I need some solid picitinny mount sights that don't flip up. I have found some but they have large honking thumb screws to mount them. Any suggestions?
