Just got a barrel in this fine cal for my Encore
at 22" it makes the rifle light and easy to maneuver and carry
anyone have experience with this round?
Powders,boolit weights ect.?
I have a 450 and 500 gr so far
what is this round like with lighter boolits
this is my main bear hunting rifle it wears a Bushnell 3x9 firefly scope
bought perfect on a dark target

try hs-6 or 2400 in 450gr cast. i use 450gr lfn gc with 16.5gr of hs-6 that goes 1235fps avg in my encore(23" MGM barrel).

I only load for a revolver so know nothing of rifle but lean toward heavier weights. have used 400gr but seem to have better acc and overall load uniformity with 430 and up for hunting. for a plinker about anything works

I have molds for a 440 grain SWC, 500 grain WLN and an MP Mold 525 grain flat nose with the hollow point option. I've been using HS6, Unique and 2400 in my revolver. I did shoot some 435 grain LFN commercial bullets while I was waiting on the molds to arrive. All are great bullets. I'm sure they would all work well in your rifle.

you "could" go to win296/h110 but i don't want or need that velocity.

I have made some 450's with blue dot and W296
I will try HS-6 whats your take on 2400 and imr 4227
not getting the best accuracy with the 450 gr but with the cup point
I am getting real fine accuracy it's not that big a weight change but it must be enough to change the weight distribution and accuracy
I have a 400 gr mold coming from Tom @ Accurate
so far I have 400,450 and 500 gr molds
how light is to light for this cartridge in your view

I am working up a load for the deep hp using W 296 with the N.O.E mold
as you know it comes with a deep hp a cup point and a plain meplat
my main objective is accuracy I want to see this bird fly

i chose hs-6 over 2400 because it was more accurate in my rifle.

450gr lfn gc
hs-6
5 shots at 100 yards - 1 1/4" avg

450gr lfn gc
2400
5 shots at 100 yards - 1 1/2" avg

i "think" that you go 420ish gr, but 500 - 530gr is your best bet to go with. i want to go with a Accurate mold that is 525gr fn.

I saw that mold it looks like a nice one
wow is all I can say
went to the range today and used my 500 gr
Mountain Molds boolit with 29 gr of W-296 and that
is the most accurate combination yet 5 shots @ 50 yards
all holes touching surprised me to say the least
30 gr opened the group up but still way better than
what I was getting with the 450 gr's
I want to get it dialed in @ 1.5" high @ 50 yds then shoot
some longer distances

i like it too.

instead of buying a mold, you can do this first....

https://bullshop.weebly.com/-50-caliber-cast-bullets.html
http://www.moyerscastbullets.com/rifle.html
https://www.montanabulletworks.com/product-category/pistol/?filter_caliber=500-linebaugh
https://www.mattsbullets.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=90&zenid=p6u6fbcnf3vd2hq7d7rjr5aes1

and then you can buy the mold.

so far I have used W296(450,500 gr.) and 2400(400 gr.Keith)
I have gotten real good 50 yard groups with both
however when I back up to 100 with the 296 my groups open up
2400 has yet to make the 100 yard range but I am hopeful

the boolit design on the 500 is a rf type with a 65% meplat
the 450 is a NOE design with a large meplat
and the Keith also has a 65% meplat
65% of the dia of boolit
