tite groups is only good for loads under about 900 fps. If i were you id buy a can of some slower burning powder. My favorite load with that bullet is 20 grains of surplus aa9 and a cci 350 primer. Ive taken a deer and a cow bufflao with it now. Its the load im hunting deer with this year in my 3.5 inch redhawk

I use 17.0 grains of WC820 for an all around carry load in the .44 Mag./beagle

I am a fan of 14-15gr of Blue Dot in my 44. Hits about the 1000fps mark from most bullets I shoot.

I shoot that load with a 240Gr SWC with 5.5Gr of TightGroup and a standard CCI primer. Shoots well with low recoil and will give better than 950FPS. A little TightGroup goes a long way. :)

I would not go above 8.OGr of TightGroup. If you do go very slow and watch for pressure sighns as it goes up real fast. I got to almost 9.OGr and the shells became hard to remove from my Marlin 1894 .44 Mag. And found the best shooting load was the 5.5Gr of TightGroup.

If you think about it you are shooting a BOOLIT that weighs more than a .45 ACP at a faster speed. And we know what a .45 ACP can do. :)

TightGroup burns cleaner than Unique with less powder usage. And as said before it is meant for low to medium loads. The only thing you have to be careful of is double loads since you use so little. If I wish to use heavy loads I go with W-296 or H-110. Some guns like W-296 and Some H-110. Even though the books will give you the same charge weight for both. I know I can not figure out either lol. :)

Happy Shooting. :)
