What does the BW stand for

Hello all,
I've got 2 molds for the same bullet 311359. one is a single and the other is a double. the double has a BW after the mold number and I noticed that the base is twice as tall as the single. gas checks fit both just fine, with the later showing more lead. i haven't put them on a scale yet but the one with the bw has to weigh more. Also the one cavity closest to the handle on the left side keeps sticking. i have to use a screwdriver to get it to pop out. anything i should be looking for that would be causing this? the spruce also is sticking to the top and have to push it out too.

The BW is the cherry or die used to cut the mould. Sticking is caused by a burr or something else making it stick. I drilled out the holes in the sprue plate with a 3/4" countersink bit to smooth them and make them a bit bigger.

To get burrs out of the mould you need to look it over real close and I scraped both edges all the way around the cavities very lightly with a razorblade box cutter. Then I took a wad of 0000 steel wool and put it in the chuck of an electric drill and spun it in the closed cavities to polish the insides. After that I used a torch to re heat treat the insides.

With time and a little TLC they will drop as soon as the mould opens.

you can also screw a screw into the base of a boolit put some flitz or toothpast on
it and turn back and forth by hand this should polish any burrs out.
or at least shine them enough to see them.
it is probably at the seam or right on the base.
