Looking for a mounting suggestion for an older Redding Powder dropper. This one has an integral mount without the screw and lock ring on the drop tube . Need something that can be easily removed to dump out excess powder when done.

I fastened mine to an oak 1x4 about 5 inches long. I use a c-clamp to attach it to my bench. Works great.

There are several ways to go with this. If you only have a modern stand with 7/8 14 threads buy a 3/4 inch bolt 2 washers and a nut. Bolt this thru a piece of wood mounted to measure. The 3/4" bolt should slide thru the hole in measure and the nut used to lock it in place. quick and easy. Another is to make a stand just for this measure than can be clamped onto the bench with a c clamp or 2. This is nice also and made right with a good base it can sit on a shelf out of the way when not in use. A piece of 1X6X10 for the base a 1x4X10-12 for the stand and 1x4x6 for the top. Here hard wood looks nice and gives mire stability, A piece of 1-1/2" dowel rod can also be used for the upright beam. Glue and dowel the joints in this stand for added strength. Last is install 2 studs in a shelf face on location ( wood screw on one side and machine screw other) then use wing nuts and washers t hold it when in use. Those are probably #10 (,187 dia) or 1/4" holes.

The mounting style is similar to the Saeco powder measure. Here's a photo I snagged off of an auction website of how the Saeco mount works.

Put some screws in a 2x4 and clamp or screw that to a loading bench

I use this type of set up for a lot of my loading tools as I have a small loading bench.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I took a little from all the above and did this. The dropper is attached to the cross piece with two wing nuts so it’s easy to remove and empty. It’s the Redding on the right.
