I ordered a .312 and a .356 star sizer from lathesmith, and I am more than pleased with what I got. I just sized about 300 .30 cal GC boolits with it and they came out at exactly .312. Haven't tried the .356 yet, but I do not imagine it will be a problem either.

If you have a star sizer get your dies from him.

How much are they?

Less than you'll pay anywhere else, including used ones on ebay. I got a .312, .4315, and .461 a few weeks ago. They size smooth as butter and exactly to the advertised diameter. The finish is very nice inside and out. These are every bit as nice as anything turned out by Star or Magma. I'll also add that the c-clip design works well and costs $4 less than the flanged design. All additional Star dies I order from him will be the c-clip design. I sized a few hundred bullets in the .4315 c-clip die immediately after I received it. These bullets were water dropped WW and around 20 BHN, and were quite a bit oversized at .437" (285 gr PB Lee GB mould). I was a little skeptical that the c-clip would hold up to this amount of sizing, but it worked great. Unless he has changed his prices recently, they are as follows: C-Clip die = $22, flange die = $26, add $4 to each price if you want the die hardened.

The only other useful bit of info I can provide is lube the inside of the die before using it the first time. This applies to any new sizing die, not just lathesmith's dies. Like an idiot I commenced to sizing with a dry sizing die and stuck the first bullet. I had to use a vise to force it out the other side.

Received my .313 from Lathesmith a few days ago. He preformed some extra work at a reasonable price. I'm happy with his services.
