Getting ready for a show, Thought someone might like to see these.
A lot of the history of US rifle development there.

Left to right,
Sharps And Hankins,
Spencer Model 1865 Indian Wars Campaign era. Stabler Cut-Off Device,
Sharps New Model 1859. Lawrence pellet Priming System,
US Bridesburg 1863 Civil war
Remington 1857 Civil war Era, Maynard priming device
US Springfield Trapdoor with spike bayonet cleaning rod.

Thanks for posting them.

My shooting partner had a Sharps and Hankins. Was there a Navy issue? with a leather rapped barrel?

Very nice rifles, really like the 59 Sharps and the Bridesburg. Interesting buttplate on the 59 Sharps.

The bulk of our old U.S. Military long guns are on display at the Vermilion County War Museum, Danville, ILL-Nois.
