my question is can you run a cast boolit sized at .314 thru a sizer of .312 ?? will it smear the lead ? or will be just fine , I will be running pretty soft lead @ about 20:1 , I need a boolit sized at .312 and everything is either .311 or .314, any thoughts???

.002 shouldn't be any problem. Using a Lyman 450 and homebrew BP lube, I've sized 275-grainers cast from 25/1 from .380/.381 to .379 without any difficulty. Also, have successfully sized hard-cast down as much as .004-.005...for example, Lee 329-205-1R sized to .325 for my VZ-24.

Depends on how hard the lead is but typically it will work fine. Much bigger and you start to get distorted bullets and it gets tougher possibley to the point of breaking something.

20-1 is about as hard as acww or 12 bhn.
if they have been sized to 314 already you may rough them up re-sizing
but the lube in the grooves will help.
if they are pouring at 314 and you wanna size them to 312 it should be no problem.
if they give you some problems just put a bit of lube on them first.
just plain old case lube will work, whatever you have.
