what are the rules regarding posting links to other sites, whether commercial or informational?

sometimes the only way to learn a rule is to break it

We don't allow ebay links, if that is what you are asking. Linking to sites like Midway, etc is fine. Ebay links are problematic because we don't know if the person linking is the actual seller or not, and just steering people to the listing. Hope that makes sense.

In order to answer that one, I'd ask you to be a little more specific about what you want to link. And then, we'd possibly have to run it up the ladder. You can send it via PM if you wish.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/cmps_index.php?page=TOS
specifically see TOS #5

5) No Commercial Advertisement will be posted on threads unless it has been previously approved in writing (this includes signature links) OR you have purchased one of our advertising subscriptions. Chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate in this community. We reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason.

informational is ok

commercial website where you have a financial interest is NOT ok.

non-profit forums could fit under solicitations if it asks for funds and then would NOT be ok.

...and absolutely NO ebay links, that is mentioned in the S&S Heading Rules.

Hey, I got a sorta related question, what about a vendor sponsor, can they link to their own ebay? If I'm not mistaken they can link to their own website. Just curious.

VS are allowed to link their site. No EBAY links applies to everyone.

Another curiosity question....do we then control what the VS is allowed to post on his own website...like an Ebay link.

OK...that makes sense...just wasn't sure how far the "control" extended.

Thanx for clearing it all up.
