44 mag - 310 - 429 SSK load help needed

Ok, I have a mold from NEI when Walt was making the Sledge Hammer molds for J D Jones of SSK. I have used it in my magnum revolvers just fine for years, but, I want to run some thru my Browning 92 44 Mag and they were to long. So I cast up a small batch from COWW they drop at 327 grains and .432 dia., at about 12 BH. So I loaded some up in 44 SPL cases and the length right under 1.6. I'm at a loss as to a starting load, and then hotting it up. The smaller volume of the special case with such a larger bullet intruding into the powder room kind of has me going. I normally use 2400, but have H110, 296, unique, blue red and green dot, and others. The ones I loaded I used Trail Boss mainly as it would be safe and I could make sure the rifle would cycle properly. I have not found any listings for heavy bullets in manuals for the SPL, 250 is about as heavy as I've found.
So I'm wondering if any of you have had experience with heavy 44 SPL loads. I though I would take the starting loads for the SPL and reduce about 10% more with unique and start from there.

Thanks, I wanted to get on quick loads, but I keep running into a wall it seems. So if someone out there has a link they would share, I'd appreciate it.

QuickLOAD is a program you need to buy. It's expensive, but worth it. It's predicted velocities are almost always within 50 fps of my chronograph results. I didn't find any 325gr .429 bullets in their lists.

I'd check twist rate. If typical 1:38" for .44 mag. rifles I doubt that long boolit will stabilize.

I have a Marlin 1894 in .44 mag. and it has the slow 1:38" twist. I found that both "J" bullets and cast over about 265 grs. wouldn't stabilize out to 100 yards. Up to 265 grs. or so do fine out to 200 yards.

Ranch Dog says his 300 gr. design will stabilize in 1:38" twist and I've been told that WFN designs will too if pushed hard. I stay with 270 grs. and lighter with no problems.

Can't help with load data except to say that there are sources showing data for 325 gr. and 355 gr. boolits in .44 mag. brass. I'd start there and use starting loads for 325 gr. then work up. If that makes you nervous then using starting data for 355 gr. boolits should make for a very safe starting point, then work up from there.

Thanks I am concerned about the twist stabilizing this boolit. I have found some loads for 300 plus grain loads for the 44 SPL to I have a starting point. Actually about 8 different loading's for the SPL. Powders used in these suggested loads are Red Dot, Blue Dot, Unique, 2400, and H110. Probably will stay away form H110 for now, not a good powder to try to light load. This boolit is long in the nose or I'd just use mag cases, but, everything looks good in the Spl case. If this 325 grain SSK boolit does not stabilize, I will have the mold surface milled down hoping to get to 300 or 290 grains and a shorter boolit.
