The .45 AR cartridge was introduced by Peters, and all the ammo I had ever seen was R-P 230 gr. lead. I did see a picture of some Winchester loads once, but they were also 230 gr. lead RN.

These came up at a local estate auction a few years ago. The first FMJ and the first Western .45 AR I had heard of.

Yup, I had some of that in the WRA brand, lacquered primer, black Lucas sealer around the bullet, loaded with 6 grains of what appeared to be Hercules Infallible, full charge load:

Got 824 fps from my Colt New Service 5-1/2" with 0.008" cylinder gap.

Outpost75, thanks for that information. In my experience, the factory .45 AR lead loads are quite wimpy. It seemed to me that FMJ loads at the same pressure would be likely to stick a bullet in the bore. I have resisted shooting or disassembling any of these simply because all 3 boxes are full. Good to know they are full loads.
