Who makes a brand of cylinder that I could use in my original remington? I bought the gun with a Pietta cylinder, but the seller informed me that It does not fit in the original receiver. Its huge compared to the original. Any options?

There are several cylinder dimensions depending on who makes them. I have 3 made by Armi San Marco and they have about the same size as the later model Pietta models. The Uberti cylinders are different if I remember correctly? They are also different if one is 36 caliber and another is 44 caliber too. I use the 1858 Remington forum to gather info about the different models, original and also the later clones. It is http://1858remington.com/discuss/index.php?action=reminder.
I hope the admins here don't get made with me listing another website as a reference?
