Fighting with the tenths.
Since I started doing my boolits, I always had problems with the diameter. The first was Lee 312-185, he never gave me more than 311. Then the rest also happened the same. I have done lapping, beagleling etc to get more diameter in my boolits. But I have never noticed the alloy and the temperature. I think I should go a little that way. What do you think? What should I look first?

I would try the heat settings first easiest. What kind of lapping compound are you using? It should not be much of a problem to take out a .001 or so. I use heat tape to enlarge my handgun bullets. No better than i shoot anymore i can't see any difference at 25 or 50 yrds. Not sure how well it would work on rifle never tried it for them.

I think I'm going to try to add more antimony to my alloy.
Between that and the PC should get comfortable to .357
Thank you very much for the info

My two cents is buy better molds. I have lots of Lee molds that drop an undersized boolit. If you powder coat this problem can easily be resolved.

The next time you need/want a new mould take a look at NOE Moulds.
I purchased a 9 mm 124 gr mould , NOE 358-124-TC-GC for 9mm Luger .
It drops .3575 with my alloy . Size/lube @ .357 I use it for 9 mm. Run them through sizer/lube @.358 and I load them in 357 magnum (gas check works ) and 38 special .
Love this versatile mould...3 in 1 .

38 special / 357 magnum bullet mould.... NOE 360-160-WC ! This is Al's recreation of the discontinued Lyman 358432 design...which I have . Lyman drops undersized for most of my cylinder throats ... NOE version drops .3595 with my alloy . Sized to .359 and this boolits a Tack Driver !
Much more accurate than the undersized Lyman... this boolit is such a sweet one I grabbed one in this design for 41 Magnum... NOE 413-215-WC , I was concerned about 413 dia.
It drops .4125 with my alloy sized/lube @ 412 it's a perfect fit in my model 58 S&W .
Until this time I had been sizing .410 as per Lyman Manual #3 & #4 instructions . This is actually a tad too small...the NOE designs correct this .
My alloy is 50-50 COWW and lead + 1% printers type for tin .

If you are suffering from undersized boolits check out NOE's moulds , I think Al Nelson might have a solution for you... Plus the moulds are a joy to cast with .

Hi, believe me if I tell you that I would love to.
There are some molds for my 7.65x53 that I would like to try.
But I live in Argentina, and it is really difficult to bring something from there.
