Anyone know of a smokeless powder tester????
They have those pistol looking ones for black powder.
I'm sure they won't work for smokeless.

just the "crusher" one and the "glue strip" one that give you chamber pressure, been wanting one to be able to experiment with shotgun loads .

I've seen the old black powder testers.
Looks like a flint lock pistol.
I was thinking something like this.....
A metal tube, with a weighted plug, that would slide in the tube.
On the bottom, there would be some way to put a tiny amount of powder, in a tiny divot.
Some way to set it off. Electric spark????
The weighted plug would blast up the tube.
There would be some kind of resettable gauge that would show how high, in the tube, the plug traveled.
Known powders would be used as a reference guide.
Not scientific in any way.
It would be used to see how a surplus powder would compare to a known powder.
Made seance????
Would it work????

The eprovette (SP) just gives a rough idea of how your powder combusts. Smokeless will just fizzle and won't set off with a flint. For smokeless you would need a pressure barrel.
