Would a speed control for a Dremel tool work to control the heat level on a lube heater?

Thanks,

It might work if the current rating of the speed control is high enough. There are speed controls for routers that are rated for heavier currents, which would work, or you could use a light dimmer.

A simple light dimmer has workrd for me for over 19 yr. Cheap, simple to wire, fully adjustable heat range, totally safe.
What else can you ask for?

I've been using a Dremel speed control on the heater of my Lyman 4500 for a couple years with no problems. I had the speed control when I got the 4500 with heater so I just used it instead of rigging up something.

Light dimmer is easy. I wired one in to a double outlet above my bench, and can plug a light, or furnace, or whatever, in for control. They generally will handle 600-700 watts.

I made one using a light dimmer switch that works great! All parts are available at your hardware store, total cost of parts is around $20 for the one I built.

Use a water heater thermostat. Cheap, or free if you watch for a discarded water heater. Mount it to you lube heater or even direct to the lube sizer. Set it one time for proper flow of your preferred lube and forget it.

I bought a small 300watt lamp dimmer with a plug, cord and outlet for about ten bucks at the local home improvemant center.
It has a slider to adjust the out put.
A thermometer lets me monitor the output temperature and adjust for best results.
