At the moment that I can remember I've got uppers in 22lr, 223/5.56, 6x45, 7.62x39, 9mm (blowback and DI), 357AR, 375 FUW (soon to add 375 FU2W and a belted 375 wildcat) , 44x1.6", 44x1.8", 450BM...need to finish up a 17HMR upper.

Pretty much if it can fit in the magwell it has been done, along with single shots and longer than standard receiver sets to get longer ones.

the list is long, and for this an internet search is your friend. though there are always new ones that havent made lists yet. must be at least 50 individual cartridges the AR15 is chambered for.

The list is well over 100 and likely over 200 if you include wildcats.

Love my 6.5 Grendel AR, flat shooting, more than enough power to take North American large game(yes it works on moose, my nephew uses it in AK and I used it last time I was up there.) On the bigger animals you have to wait for a good angle on the shot so broadside is best, on whitetails any good kill shot hit works...

There are at least 5 cases/case families and likely every bullet dia from 17-50 .
So 17-35 for 223 , 17-364 in the 30 Rem/6.8 Rem , the same for ×39 , 22-44 for a shortened rebated 300 Savage , 22-50 for a further rebated and shortened 284 Win .
Plus the RF and blow back etc rimless pistol cartridges .

ar15, or ar10?

Olympic and a couple others make a 22-250 AR15. I have one of those bolts/extensions in my 44x1.8" AR15 which with a 16" barrel matches what my 444 Marlin does with a 22" barrel at least for 225gr-265gr bullets.

Dang, no 6.5x55 Swede [emoji12]In an AR10 frame you take the 6.5x55 add $10 a box and call it 6.5 Creedmore :)

I've got two in 5.56 and one in .450 Bushmaster. 9 rounds of bear defense goodness in a package 3 lbs lighter than my Marlin 1894 in .45 Colt. Works great as a camping/hiking carbine.

Rudy Koester at Macon Armory would probably make you a DI 10mm or 10mm Magnum. He makes DI .45s, and 10 would be easier because the bolt is an off the shelf part.

by God I need to buy another half dozen lowers. Ive got a plain jane 308 ar10 on the bench right now getting put together and a bare lower waiting for parts from palmetto I just got a email that they shipped. Its going to be a 7 in marauder in 300 bo. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-7-nitride-1-7-pistol-length-300aac-blackout-marauder-ar-15-upper-assembly-black-no-bcg-ch.html

Didn't see the 375 stalker, 375 SOCOM, 7.62X40 or the 300HAM"R mentioned yet.
Not sure if the PPCs were mentioned either.
Too many to list!

AR-10s are available in 300 WSM now too. About time IMO.

if were dreaming how about cheap rifles chambered in 30 arx. 762x39 or even a bit better ballistics and will work in standard ar15 mags instead of those curved ones. All the power with much less feeding issues. If comparing 16 inch guns it compares favorably to a 308 or at least a 300 savage. brass could be made from 6.5 Grendel or 762x39

How about the 30 American? Uses 6.8 mags and bolt, loads with 30 Herrett dies in 6.8 brass, trimmed to 42mm. More oompfh than blackout or 7.62x39, using easily available components.

What do the mags look like? And how do you like it?

http://www.olyarms.com/shop/rifles/umar-rifles/umar-22250.html

The Only AR-15 that can be chambered in .22-250 Rem.
The following features are used in addtion to standard
features on the UMAR lower receiver:
1. Modified UMAR AR-15 lower receiver magazine well. Designed specifically for the UMAR magazines to accept the venerable .22-250 caliber and long WSSM loads.
2. Threaded bolt catch hole: designed for a quick and easy change of your bolt catch between standard 5.56 magazine and the UMAR magazines, (Which use different bolt catches). Swap back and forth in seconds!
3. All modified UMAR lower receivers can also readily accept every standard AR-15 upper and caliber option. The UMAR lower is applicable to all AR-15 calibers from .22 LR and 5.56 NATO, to the WSSM and .22-250 calibers. Just swap the upper, the magazine and the bolt catch (if needed).
4. UMAR magazines come in two vatieties: .22-250 or WSSM/OSSM

Llyod, you might want to check out the 6.5 Grendel forum (http://www.65grendel.com/forum/) for group buys. And make sure you get the correct bolt.

Edit to add: and mags that will be dependable.

bear creek sells a complete upper bolt group included for 210 bucks. Guaranteed to shoot moa. I did here they had some labor problems and just had 30 people either quit or get fired. bottom line is I don't worry to much about quality. There just like psa and don't build uppers themselves anyway. They buy them and resell them. Probably come from the exact same place. Does anyone know what that labor crisis was all about. Im all for the worker but that said it doesn't take a master gunsmith to build a ar15. A high school kid can do it as well as anyone else. Heck even I can do it.

I think there is a .500 auto, which would be a 500 S&W without the rim. I think Starline makes brass.

the labor crisis was their work force was comprised of illegal aliens, and immigration raided them.
