I am looking for information on a 70s mechanical auto dialer, that was in the switch room.

I was thinking a member here was a collector.

If so could you P.M. me so I Could send some pictures and maybe you could identify it for me?

I worked for General Telephone for thirty seven years in both the switch rooms and in private businesses. I don't think you can send pictures with a PM. Post it here. I did save quit a bit of old telephone gear.

It was a motorized dialer that had slide switches to program the number for forwarding an extension to a toll free number for hotel reservations in the 70s. Made by western electric. I will try to hunt it down today if the heat wave does not get me.

phonejack, sounds like you are an ex switchman or maybe an installer. I spent many years in the old jump & jerk switch rooms working for General Telephone. I put in a lot of years doing the same for private businesses. I saw a lot of history as it was happening.

I have never seen that contraption but there are many things I have not seen. I have attached a picture of two old WESTERN ELECTRIC phones. I will try to post more pictures tomorrow.
