I went to the Sheriff's office range today, just taking my .22/45, Ruger LC9s Pro and my CZ 75 SP-01. I've been having issues with the CZ not wanting to feed the same ammo that my former Glocks and my Ruger fire with glee. I've been sizing down to .357 for the CZ, and have several boxes of ammo sized .358 for my Ruger. Today I tried putting maybe five rounds of the .358 in the CZ and see what would ( or wouldn't ) happen. I was pretty surprised when the CZ gobbled the rounds up without a hitch! Well....... I have a new Lee 358-125 RF mold that I sized the first 100 some boolits to .357. I'm going to try loading some sized to .358 and see how the CZ likes them. I know that the Ruger will chamber and fire them, so I'm not going to have to break them down if the CZ doesn't chamber them....I'd prefer to shoot the bigger boolits if it goes well.

All of my pistols shot very well today. I was the only shooter on the pistol range, with the exception of the RO and two retired deputies that assist. There were two guys shooting at the rifle range, which, according to the rules, I had to vacate the pistol range until they either got finished or timed out. It wasn't any concern, they were shooting first, so I sat down and BS'd with the other guys.

All in all it was a great time.....

Sounds like a pretty good day to me.

What's up with the odd rule about vacating the pistol range when people are shooting on the rifle range?

The rifle bench is 168 yards to the berm, the pistol range is 50 yards to the berm. There are metal sillouettes that the rifle shooters can shoot at, and with the pistol range so close there is the possibility, however remote, of a ricochet.....

Take a look at that CZ chamber. I have a CZ 75B that I had to have throated to shoot cast Boolits in. The bore was .3565 and I had to size .358 to get the boolits to stabilize. When I went with that large boolit the boolit hit the rifling and shaved some lead. Soon there was enough lead at the front of the chamber to stop the round going into full battery. If the slide does not go into full battery then exact the round and look for a ring of lead on the boolit or in the chamber.
My pistol shot .355 jacketed bullets fine with the stock chamber.

It was doing just that with my TC cast loads, just a tiny ring of lead, and a heck of a time trying to get the slide opened. That was the .358 boolits. the .357 with the same oal did fine. But now I just gotta see........but it's been a bit warm to play in the shed as of late.....
